Course Description
This two-day elective course is designed to help you remain current with the rapidly changing world of contract requirements. You will gain an overview of the acquisition process, focusing on the roles and responsibilities of a Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR), including the administrative duties as outlined in the delegation letter. By the end of this workshop, you will be up to date on changes made to acquisition policies, regulations, and contract requirements. Upon completion, your renewed mastery of acquisition policies and best practices will strengthen your impact as a COR.
Learning Objectives
- Explain the role of the COR in each phase of the requirement
- Recognize the limits of authority, and standards of conduct for a COR
- Understand unauthorized commitments and the ratification process
- Describe the COR’s responsibilities in acquisition planning, market research, activities, and socioeconomic programs
