BMRA has been in operation for over 50 years, carrying on a legacy of expertise in training and professional services that increase efficiency and effectiveness within government organizations and industry. 

Our standards of excellence and respect for public service began with Mr. Donald E. Sowle, back in 1973. That year, Mr. Sowle, Col. USAF (Ret.), established Don Sowle Associates, Inc. (DSAI), a diversified professional services firm specializing in the fields of acquisition management, procurement, logistics, and contract administration, among others. Mr. Sowle was a procurement policy leader and would later be appointed by President Ronald Reagan as Administrator for the Office of Federal Procurement Policy (OFPP), where he served from 1981 – 1985. 

In 1981, DSAI was renamed to Business Management Research Associates, Inc. (BMRA). As a result of our work, we’ve helped more than 500,000 government and industry employees advance their careers in public service. Our commitment to adult education and business-related services remains constant. Over the years, we have adapted our services to meet the ever-evolving talent development and professional services needs of those who serve and contribute to the public trust.   

BMRA is a certified as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). Following tradition, we continue to be owned and managed by a retired USAF Colonel, steeped in procurement expertise.
