Description
This one-day elective course will help you develop the best value acquisition skills needed to execute a source selection, collaborate as an acquisition team, define requirements, and determine a selection approach. You will learn the pros and cons of multiple source selection methods, the key questions to ask when evaluating past performance assessments, and how to evaluate risk.
Learning Objectives
- Assess the effectiveness of a source selection strategy for a given requirement
- Determine appropriate evaluation factors and source selection instructions for a given requirement
- Select an appropriate rating system (color, adjective, numeric) for a requirement
- Identify and document proposal strengths, weaknesses, or deficiencies and how the findings relate to the assigned rating
- Identify the impact of past performance on a selection decision
- Determine a competitive range of the most highly rated offerors
- Recommend a source selection award decision to the source selection authority with adequate justification based on the tradeoffs made
- Explain how certain decisions made during source selection can increase the risk of a sustained protest
