Description
This two-day course will provide you with knowledge of the acquisition process while being a business advisor. You will learn how to understand your customers’ mission and plan strategies based on the contracting environment and your customer needs. You will also learn how to use applicable regulations and policies to conduct effective market research, develop alternative acquisition strategies, and understand how socioeconomic programs support the acquisition planning process. With the completion of this course, you will be able to conduct successful requirement preparation for your organization.
Learning Objectives
- Reinforce areas of mutual interest within an acquisition environment (requiring activity, contractor, contracting office, others)
- Develop the applicable requirements documents for an acquisition, and acquisition planning tools
- Determine the laws applicable (labor, environment, socioeconomic, and foreign acquisition requirements) to that requirement
- Know the competition requirements of Simplified Acquisition Procedure (SAP) and the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT)
- Provide advice on acquisition strategy or acquisition plan
- Describe the importance of the oversight roles of the Government Accountability Office and the Office of the Inspector General
